Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Flooring Installer to join their team servicing Timaru and the wider Canterbury region.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high-quality flooring installation services that meet industry standards across various client sites serviced by the company. Travel between job sites will be required.

Hours of work are between Monday to Friday, between 8:00am to 5:00pm, with weekend work as required. Minimum guaranteed hours of 40 per week. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting and preparing substrates prior to flooring installation

  • Repairing and levelling existing substrates where required

  • Removing furniture and uplifting existing flooring, underlay, and smooth edge where necessary

  • Installing a range of flooring products in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards

  • Ensuring flooring installations are completed accurately and to a high standard

  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, including removing waste materials and tools from client sites

  • Complying with workplace health and safety policies and procedures

  • Reporting any safety concerns, accidents, or property damage to the appropriate personnel

  • Providing a professional level of service and maintaining respectful conduct when working in customers’ homes

Skills and experience required:

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience 

  • Experience preparing surfaces and installing a variety of flooring materials

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Good communication and customer service skills
