BSG Civil is a leading construction company committed to delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable building and civil solutions. With loads of work on the go, we are looking for experienced excavator operators to join our team in Auckland. This role will be permanent and full-time job

Your responsibilities includes:

  • Operating excavators and other heavy plant equipment to carry out excavation, trenching, site preparation and earthmoving activities.

  • Preparing and positioning machinery for safe and efficient operation on construction and civil works sites.

  • Selecting, fitting and removing attachments such as buckets, augers, rock breakers and other hydraulic tools.

  • Excavating, moving, loading and spreading soil, rock, rubble and other materials in accordance with site requirements.

  • Loading, unloading and transporting construction materials, tools and equipment around the worksite.

  • Performing excavation work in line with site plans, drawings, survey markers and instructions from supervisors.

  • Conducting routine inspections and carrying out servicing, cleaning, lubricating and refuelling of plant equipment.

  • Monitoring machinery performance and adjusting controls to regulate speed, pressure and movement to ensure safe operation.

  • Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety procedures and maintaining awareness of site hazards and underground services.

  • Performing adjustments, repair or maintenance to excavator machinery

  • Cleaning and maintaining the worksite and disposing of waste materials.

The ideal applicant needs to:

  • Have at least 3 years relevant work experience or relevant qualification equivalent to NZQA Level 4

  • Have a firm understanding of the health and safety requirements that need to be upheld on site and be able to ensure they are adhered to.

  • Be able to interpret and comprehend plans to ensure accurate builds and be able to collaborate with other team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently.

Pay conditions:

Minimum $28 to Maximum $40 per hour depending on skills and experience

Hours of work: Minimum 30 hours per week is guaranteed.
