ADVANCED PAINTING AND DECORATING LIMITED

 is currently looking for 2  painters on a full-time permanent position. The hourly wage rates from $30.00 to $35.00. The company is based in Otago Region, but you may have to travel outside of region for business purposes.

 Job Duties you may need to perform as follows

• Preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and removing old paint, wallpaper, or coatings to ensure proper adhesion

• Filling cracks, holes, and imperfections using appropriate materials such as plaster, putty, or fillers, and smoothing surfaces

• Selecting, mixing, and matching paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes in accordance with project specifications

• Applying paints, varnishes, and coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment to achieve a high-quality finish

• Measuring and calculating material requirements to ensure efficient use of resources

• Erecting and working safely on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms as required

• Protecting adjacent surfaces, furniture, and fixtures using drop sheets, masking tape, and protective coverings

• Applying decorative finishes, textures, or wallpapers as required by project specifications

• Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and client expectations

• Maintaining painting tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition

• Following workplace health and safety policies, including the safe handling of paints, chemicals, and equipment

• Complying with all relevant New Zealand building codes, regulations, and company procedures

• Communicating effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients regarding job progress and any issues

• Assisting in planning and scheduling work to meet project deadlines

 Qualification:
 Level  4 qualification or 2 years relevant experience
