We are looking for two passionate Hairdressers to join our busy barber shop.

The Hairdresser is responsible for delivering professional hairdressing services in accordance with client requirements, salon standards, and health and safety regulations.

$23 - $24 per hour
Working hours:
30-32 hours per week

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Consult with clients to assess hair condition and confirm suitable haircuts, colours, and treatments

  2. Cut, trim, shape, and style hair using professional hairdressing tools and techniques

  3. Shampoo, condition, dry, and finish hair services to salon standards

  4. Apply hair colouring, highlighting, bleaching, and toning treatments accurately and safely

  5. Perform chemical hair services such as perming, straightening, and smoothing treatments 

  6. Recommend appropriate hairstyles, treatments, and hair care products based on client needs

  7. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of workstations, tools, and equipment in line with health regulations

  8. Ensure all services comply with workplace health and safety and sanitation requirements

  9. Manage client appointments efficiently to maintain service quality and workflow

  10. Handle client enquiries and maintain a professional level of customer service

  11. Monitor product usage and report low stock to salon management

  12. Follow salon policies, procedures, and quality standards at all times

Job Requirements:

  1. A relevant qualification in hairdressing at NZQF Level 5 or above, and at least Five years of relevant work experience as a Hairdresser.

  2. Willingness to work rostered hours, including weekends if required.

  3. Good Communication and people skills.
  4. This position requires attention to detail, and the ability to provide consistent, high- quality services in a professional salon environment.
  5. Full Drivers Licence with clean record.
  6. 3+ Years of experience in salons specializing in balayage and color corrections.

All suitable candidates should be able to pass a drug test and a Ministry of Justice check when required.
