Auckland Roofing Contractors Limited, specializing in roofing material installation, is seeking multiple Roofing Labourers to join our team in the Auckland region. We are looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals who can work effectively both independently and collaboratively. The role includes travel within the Auckland region, with all travel and fuel costs covered by the employer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist roofers in the installation, repair, and replacement of roofing materials including metal sheets, tiles, shingles, and waterproof membranes.
- Load, unload, and transport roofing materials, tools, and equipment to and from work sites.
- Prepare roof surfaces by removing old roofing materials, cleaning surfaces, and setting up safety barriers.
- Hold and position roofing materials in place for fastening by qualified tradespersons.
- Mix and apply roofing compounds and sealants under supervision.Install insulation and underlay materials as directed.
- Erect and dismantle ladders, scaffolding, and temporary structures in accordance with safety requirements.
- Operate basic hand and power tools used in roofing work, such as drills, nail guns, grinders, and cutting tools, in a safe and efficient manner under the guidance of qualified tradespersons.
- Clear debris and maintain a clean and safe worksite throughout the project.Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including working at heights protocols.
- Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs to roofing systems.
- Perform any other related duties as required to support business operations and ensure the timely completion of projects.
Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and will be paid between $24 to $28 per hour.
Other requirements for the role:
- Relevant work experience is preferred but not essential.
- Flexible availability, to be able to start early, including weekends to meet project schedules.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual on-site tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working at heights.
- Hardworking, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Able to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team.
