Term: Permanent full time position
Wage: $31.50-$34.50 per hour
Hours of work: minimum 30 hours per week, maximum 50 hours per week Shifted from Monday to Saturday
Due to business operation requirement, we are now seeking four experienced and qualified carpenters to join us.
The position is Permanent, with minimum 30 hours of work per week, shifting from Monday to Saturday.
We require the candidate:
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience
• OR has relevant New Zealand qualification Certificate in level 4
We prefer the candidate:
• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings
• Able to follow safety guidelines at all times
• Able to work under pressure.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Construct and assemble building frameworks, including wall framing, roof trusses, and floor systems, ensuring structural integrity and alignment.
• Install and repair structural components, such as sub-flooring, floorboards, roof sheathing, and exterior wall cladding (e.g., weatherboards, fibre cement).
• Fit and install doors, windows, and fascia panels, ensuring proper sealing and weatherproofing.
• Build and set up concrete formwork for foundations, slabs, and other concrete structures.
• Repair and maintain existing structures, including replacing damaged timber, reinforcing frames, and fixing structural issues.
• Read and interpret building plans and specifications to determine materials, measurements, and installation methods.
• Work with a variety of materials, including timber, plywood, engineered wood products, and occasionally metals or composites.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations during all construction and repair work.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople (e.g., plumbers, electricians) to complete projects efficiently.
