Due to the business expansion strategy undertaken, the company has secured stable project work in Auckland and Queenstown region, and this opens up the vacancies for 10 Carpenters to join the construction team.

About this role - Carpenter

This role is an ongoing, full-time (minimum 40 hours per week) permanent employment. The pay rate is dependent on experience, between $30 and $35 per hour. Location of work is in Auckland region. Trasport is required as you will be expected to travel to various locations across Auckland.

 

Reporting to our Site Supervisor, your tasks with include:

  • Constructing, erecting, altering, repairing and installing doors, roofs, windows, furniture, cabinets, frames, scaffold, concrete forms and other items using hand and power tools.
  • Removing walls, installing partitions and steps, altering buildings or room, or adding to existing structures.
  • Installing and finishing drywall, wood panelling, siding and other prefabricated materials.
  • Marks, cuts and shapes materials to prescribed measurements.
  • Studying blueprints, sketches, and work orders to determine materials and equipment required for assigned work.
  • Other ad hoc tasks.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 2 years’recent relevant experience (preference will be given to candidates who have experience in architectural and residential construction)
  • The ability to confidently read, interpret and understand plans and specifications.
  • Physically fit
  • High attention to detail and quality
  • At least 2 work references
  • 100% commitment to Health & Safety
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and random drug testing as required.
  • The ability to work either unsupervised or in a team environment.
  • The ability to undertake work in appropriate timeframes.
  • A methodical and organized approach that ensures efficiency and accuracy in their daily work.
