Our organization based in Christchurch is looking for Student Support & Welfare
Coordinator (2 Positions) to provide support and settlement coordination services to
international students.
As a student support coordinator, you will be supporting students in adjusting to a new
environment, ensuring their wellbeing, and assisting them to access appropriate
community and social support services by fostering a safe, inclusive and nurturing
environment.
Our organization supports approximately 50 international students per month which
requires ongoing coordination of pre-arrival communication, airport logistics,
accommodation oversight, settlement orientation, and ongoing welfare monitoring.
Key Duties include, but not limited to:
Assess student needs upon arrival and during training.
Provide guidance to assist students adjusting to a new cultural and social
environment.
Monitor student wellbeing and advise them appropriate community, health, or
professional services.
Assist students in accessing essential services including healthcare providers,
banking services, telecommunications, and public transport.
Provide orientation support to students.
Coordinate airport pickups aligned with international arrival schedules.
Coordinate student accommodation allocation and orientation.
Monitor student wellbeing within accommodation settings.
To promote a safe living environment to make them feel comfortable.
Liaise with management regarding operational requirements.
Maintain accurate records of student interactions and welfare activities provided
to them.
Ensure documentation aligns with organizational and compliance requirements.
Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
Always stay updated with the current visa applications capacity and capability
amongst the team to ensure work is assigned properly and is done on time to
meet deadlines.
Promoting positive behavior and fostering a supportive environment.
Performing other relevant duties from time to time as required.
This is a full-time permanent position with a minimum of 32 hours per week and the pay
rate for this position will be 28.00 NZD per hour.
Weekend availability and Flexibility is must to accommodate international flights arrivals.
Key Requirements
Either a minimum of High school certificate or Higher qualification in any field OR
Minimum 1-year relevant experience in community support, welfare coordination,
or similar role.
Valid Full New Zealand Driver License or overseas equivalent License is
mandatory.
