We are seeking experienced Pipefitters to join our growing team working across commercial and industrial projects in New Zealand. This role involves installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems in accordance with technical drawings and industry standards.

You will be working on a variety of projects, including mechanical services, water systems, and industrial pipe installations.

Pay rate: $26 to $33 per hour

Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Measure, cut, thread, and install pipes (steel, copper, PVC, HDPE, etc.)
  • Assemble and install piping systems, valves, and fittings
  • Perform pipe alignment, levelling, and support installation
  • Carry out testing of systems (pressure testing, leak detection)
  • Work with welding teams (where required) for pipe connections
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and site requirements
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean working environment
  • Collaborate with supervisors and other trades on site

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years proven experience as a Pipefitter
  • Ability to read and work from drawings and specifications
  • Experience with various pipe materials (e.g. carbon steel, stainless steel, HDPE)
  • Strong understanding of installation processes and site practices
  • Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments
  • Strong commitment to health and safety
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions

Preferred (Not Essential)

  • Welding or fabrication experience
  • Experience on commercial or industrial sites
  • Full NZ Driver’s Licence or overseas equivalent
