NZ Placer Mining Limited is seeking an experienced Engineer to support alluvial mining operations located at Walkers Flat/Whitecliffs, Lower Buller Gorge, Buller. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct safety inspections of plant, equipment and machinery
  • Conduct maintenance inspections of plant, equipment and machinery
  • Assist in maintenance and repair of engines, pumps, valves, hydraulics, compressors and generators and general maintenance of the mining systems including but not limited to : excavators up to 100t, articulated dump trucks, other heavy vehicles,water pumps,floating gold screen plant, fixed fold screen plant, telehandler and any other equipment
  • Engineer and fabricate bespoke components and/or complete systems for gold screening plant, and all associated mining equipment
  • Engineer repairs to heavy equipment as necessary to ensure maximum plant availability
  • Specialised repairs and fabricate components for operation of mobile conveyor plant.
  • Interpret engineering drawings
  • Design and engineer solutions
  • Assist development of safety and operating systems when required
  • Participate in training and development exercises
  • Ensure compliance and participate in the development of NZP H&S policey, Mine Health & Safety System and Worksare regulations
  • Assist during safety drills
  • Any other duties as required

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES :

  • Degree or certificate in Engineering or a related discipline
  • OR with at least minimum 3 years relevant experience
  • Has a strong analytical and problem solving skills

HOURS : minimum guaranteed hours of 40 per week

HOURLY RATE OR SALARY BAND : $ 30.00 - $40.00 per hour.
