Our client is an established civil construction contractor with a strong presence across the North Island specialising in projects involving large scale drainage, concrete construction and infrastructure associated with Energy and utility works. On their behalf we are on the hunt for experienced Site Engineers to support the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects.
Working alongside experienced construction managers and site teams, this role will see you coordinating site activities, monitoring project progress, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, solutions-focused engineer who enjoys being close to the action on site and contributing to technically challenging civil works.
The Role
As Site Engineer you will play a key role in coordinating project activities and supporting the successful delivery of civil works on site.
Responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the planning and coordination of site activities

Monitoring construction progress against programme and project milestones

Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings and specifications

Supporting quality assurance processes and documentation
-
Liaising with supervisors, subcontractors and project managers

Assisting with procurement of materials and site resources
-
Maintaining accurate site records and reporting
About You
You will be a motivated engineer with a strong interest in civil construction and a practical approach to problem solving.
The ideal candidate will have:

A qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

At least 3 years’ experience as a Site Engineer on New Zealand civil infrastructure projects

Experience working with earthworks, drainage and or concrete construction

Sound understanding of construction methodologies and safety standards

Strong organisational and communication skills

Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a project team

Based in or willing to relocate to the Waikato region, with flexibility to travel for projects when required

New Zealand citizenship or residency (our client is not accredited)
