We are seeking an experienced and reliable Tow Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves heavy duty towing and vehicle recovery work, including rostered on‑call duties. The position requires a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and technical skill.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating a tow truck to recover and transport vehicles
  • Safely loading, securing, and unloading vehicles
  • Operating a tow truck to recover and transport vehicles, including after‑hours call‑outs
  • Completing job records and documentation accurately
  • Maintaining vehicles in a clean and roadworthy condition

Hours and Conditions:

  • Minimum of 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required for call-outs. 
  • Rostered on‑call weeks required
  • Call‑outs paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate
  • Public holidays paid in accordance with government settings

Skills and Experience:

  • Heavy duty towing knowledge is essential
  • Ability to obtain a V endorsement (support provided)
  • At least two years of relevant towing or similar heavy vehicle experience
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices

Licensing and Eligibility:

  • Appropriate full New Zealand driver licence (Class 2 or above minimum) or international equivalent required
  • V endorsement must be obtainable
  • No criminal record (essential to obtain V endorsement)

Personal Attributes:

  • Reliable and able to work under pressure
  • Able to work independently
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting as required
  • Good communication and customer service skills
