We are seeking a responsible and motivated Assistant Manager to join our liquor retail store located in Manurewa, Auckland. This is a permanent full-time position supporting the Store Manager in the daily operation of the store and ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with alcohol licensing regulations.

Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week, up to 35 hours per week
Days of Work: Monday to Sunday (Rostered shifts)
Pay Rate: $26.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager will assist the Store Manager in the efficient running of the liquor retail store.


Duties include but are not limited to:
 Supporting daily store operations and ensuring compliance with company policies and
procedures
 Receiving and checking deliveries against packing slips and storing goods according to store procedures
 Providing training and guidance to customer service staff
 Delivering excellent customer service and professionally resolving customer enquiries
 Assisting with daily bookkeeping, invoicing and banking
 Organising and participating in stock takes and inventory control
 Planning and implementing product promotions and merchandising displays
 Monitoring store presentation, product quality and display standards
 Maintaining store records and documentation required for efficient store operations
 Ensuring compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012
 Assisting with staff supervision and supporting the Store Manager when required
 Handling emergency situations and maintaining health and safety standards
 Assisting with payroll, time and attendance processing when required
 Performing other related duties as directed by the Store Manager

Skills and Requirements
Applicants must have:
 Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ) – Mandatory
 Manager’s Certificate – Advantageous not Mandatory
 Relevant qualification in Hospitality Management or related field
 Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service supervision preferred
 Strong customer service and communication skills
 Committed and reliable
 Good organisational and leadership abilities
 Ability to work flexible rostered shifts including weekends
 Understanding of liquor retail operations and alcohol licensing compliance
