Kainga Productions is a growing film and video production company specialising in commercial content, branded storytelling, and digital media production. We work with a diverse portfolio of clients across industries, delivering high-quality visual content for marketing campaigns, online platforms, and commercial distribution.

Due to an increasing volume of ongoing projects and the need for consistent in-house post-production capability, we are seeking a full-time Film and Video Editor to join our team. This is a core production role within our internal content delivery pipeline, responsible for ensuring that all video outputs meet professional, technical, and commercial standards. Unlike freelance or project-based engagements, this position supports continuous production workflows across multiple concurrent projects, requiring close collaboration with our in-house production team. This is a permanent full-time position, and you will be required to work at least 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

1. Video Editing & Post-Production

·      Edit raw footage into high-quality video content using industry-standard software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro)

·      Assemble sequences, adjust pacing, and refine narrative structure to align with creative direction

·      Perform colour correction, audio synchronisation, and basic sound design

·      Export final deliverables in required formats for various platforms (broadcast, digital, social media)

2. Footage Management & Workflow

·      Organise and manage raw footage, project files, and editing timelines

·      Maintain structured file systems for efficient retrieval and version control

·      Ensure all media assets are properly logged, labelled, and stored

3. Story Development Support

·      Collaborate with directors and producers to interpret scripts, storyboards, and briefs

·      Contribute to shaping narrative flow during post-production

·      Identify the most effective shots and sequences to enhance storytelling impact

 4. Production Collaboration

·      Work closely with production teams to ensure continuity between filming and post-production

·      Provide feedback during filming when required (e.g. shot coverage, retake needs)

·      Coordinate with sound designers, motion graphics editors, and external vendors if required

 5. Client & Content Adaptation

·      Adapt content for different audiences, including bilingual (English/Chinese) content where required

·      Implement client feedback and revisions in a timely and professional manner

·      Ensure outputs meet brand guidelines and campaign objectives

6. Technical Quality Assurance

·      Ensure all outputs meet technical specifications and quality standards

·      Troubleshoot editing or rendering issues

·      Stay updated with emerging editing techniques and software tools

Skills & Experience

•           At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Film, Media Production, Directing or a related field OR

•           At least two years of proven experience in video editing and post-production

•           Strong portfolio demonstrating commercial or narrative video work

•           Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro

•           Familiarity with After Effects and Adobe Creative Suite preferred

•           Strong understanding of video formats, codecs, and delivery specifications
