Job Requirements
You should be able to perform the following:
Plan, organise, direct, control, and coordinate the overall operations of the transport anddistribution function to ensure timely and cost-eff ective delivery of goods.
Develop and implement transport strategies, delivery schedules, and route optimisation plansaligned with business objectives and customer service standards.
Oversee fl eet management activities including vehicle utilisation, maintenance schedules,compliance, and replacement planning.
Manage and supervise transport supervisors, drivers, dispatch staff , and administrative personnelto ensure operational effi ciency and performance targets are met.
Ensure compliance with all relevant transport legislation, health and safety regulations, fatiguemanagement rules, and company policies.
Monitor operational performance through KPIs such as delivery accuracy, turnaround time, fueleffi ciency, and cost control; implement improvements where required.
Prepare and manage transport budgets, control operating costs, and authorise expenditure inline with approved fi nancial limits.
Negotiate and manage contracts with third-party logistics providers, suppliers, and servicecontractors where applicable.
Investigate incidents, delivery issues, and customer complaints; implement corrective andpreventive actions.
Coordinate closely with warehouse, sales, and procurement teams to ensure smooth end-to-end distribution operations.
Analyse transport data and prepare management reports on performance, compliance, andoperational risks.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, safety, sustainability, andproductivity.
Qualifi cation and Experience:
- You have a Diploma level 5 or higher or a work experience of three years or above
