About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our production and maintenance team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of our brewing and packaging equipment, helping us maintain the quality and consistency our customers expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing mechanical layouts, installation requirements, and equipment modification plans for brewing, filling, packaging, and associated production systems.
- Assist with the planning, layouts, and technical implementation of mechanical equipment modifications, machinery upgrades, and production line improvements.
- Select appropriate tools, replacement parts, and mechanical components required for equipment servicing, installation, upgrades, and mechanical works.
- Support the assembly, installation, commissioning, and modification of brewery, filling, packaging, and associated production equipment, including mechanical components, drive systems, and machine assemblies.
- Estimate material quantities, spare parts, servicing requirements, and equipment needs for planned maintenance, machinery upgrades, and production equipment improvement works.
- Conduct equipment testing, trial runs, and performance checks following repairs, servicing, modification, or new equipment installation.
- Collect and review maintenance, fault, and equipment performance data, and prepare service records, technical notes, and basic mechanical diagrams to support troubleshooting, equipment planning, and maintenance scheduling.
- Support equipment upgrades and mechanical improvements to help improve reliability, efficiency, and operational performance.
- Ensure all maintenance and installation work is completed in line with technical specifications, production requirements, and workplace safety standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Relevant Bachelor's Degree of Engineering, specialization in Mechanical Engineering, NZQCF Level 7 or higher.
- Or at least 3 years of relevant experience in the mechanical area, experience in the food, beverage, or brewing industry is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, and mechanisms; ability to read mechanical and piping drawings
- A practical, hands-on approach with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, safety-conscious, and a collaborative team player

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent.
Hours: 30 - 40 hours per week.
