Oversees and supervises workers processing seafood.

Tasks:

  • cut and prepare meat and seafood

  • inspect and sort food products

  • weigh and mark food products for identification

  • store meat and seafood safely

  • follow hygiene and quality assurance rules

  • clean equipment and preparation areas

  • manage stock and distribute supplies

  • use knives safely and efficiently

  • follow health, safety and welfare rules

 

Requirements for the job:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience, or a diploma-level qualification or higher

  • usually work shifts, including weekends

  • usually work in factories or on ships and may travel locally

  • may work in noisy and dirty conditions

  • may do physically demanding work

  • need to be accurate, practical and safety conscious
