Robin&Cherry Limited seeks a motivated individual to lead the operations of our butchery store in Henderson. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with sound knowledge of meat processing and retail operations to join our team.
About the Role
This is a full-time role and require work 40 hours every week. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the butchery store. You will ensure high-quality meat preparation, maintain food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and control the operations of the butchery store
- Ensure meat is prepped to a high standard for retail sale
- Ensure product quality, freshness, and proper storage of all meat products
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships to meet customer demand
- Monitor sales, pricing, and margins to maximise profitability
- Oversee product displays and ensure attractive merchandising of meat products
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records of stock, waste, and financial transactions
- Provide excellent customer service, including advising customers on meat selection and preparation
- Work closely with senior management to improve department efficiency and achieve business goals
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in retail or butchery operations OR
- A relevant New Zealand level 4 qualification
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Strong knowledge of meat cuts, trimming techniques, and portion control
- Understanding of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and safe meat handling
- Ability to manage stock rotation, minimise waste, and maintain product quality
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety compliance requirements
