Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Read and Design network plans, specifications, and work areas to determine positioning and connections for equipment to be installed
- Implementing telecommunication networks and ensuring efficient use of applications
- Provisioning of Fibre for ROW or SDU customers
- Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot fibre, copper, data, and voice networks
- Perform fibre fault-finding, splicing, jointing and testing
- Conduct LAN/WiFi/Data/Voice installations, UTP cabling, termination, and testing
- Install low-voltage systems: CCTV security
- Read and interpret CAD drawings, site plans, and network documentation
- Prepare as-builts and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Maintain strong customer service and uphold safety requirements at all times
- Ensure compliance with health & safety requirements and site rules
- Complete hazard checks and documentation
- Fibre cable hauling, splicing & handling, and ROW cabling
- Hauling aerial and underground cable from Fibre Access Terminal to Customers’
- FTP Installation and programming of Optical Network Terminal (ONT), SFP ONT & Broadband Modems
- Coordinate with ISP for the activation of the broadband modem and
telephone lines - Troubleshooting and fixing fibre optic faults, Phone lines, and Internet connection
- Replacing and repairing faulty items when needed
- Installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and data transmission equipment such as ONT, SFP ONT, Router/modem, etc.
- Tracing and locating underground cable faults.
- Performing outside boundary remediation (OSB) to fix underground faults on both
concrete and soft surface - Concrete slot cutting and trenching
- Ability to communicate effectively with different sections of the
installation process that includes service providers and dispatch
centre.
To be successful in your application, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Relevant Level 4 Qualification OR minimum 2-3 years of relevant work
experience - Preferably First Aid Level 1, Basic Traffic Controller (TC1), Electrical
Supply Industry Safety (WTC1), Working at Heights (WTC3) Certificates Preferred - Protecting the Network (PTN) Accreditation training preferred
- Experience in working with wiring in both residential and business settings
premises preferrable - Be competent with hand/power tools and other technical equipment
- Full Clean Class 1 New Zealand Driver's License
- Excellent fitness and physical ability to carry out manual tasks
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, such as a house's basements
- Enjoy coming to work and willing to be part of a team
- Weekend availability with flexible hours

- 30-40 hours of work per Week
