Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Operations Manager at SAI CARRIERS LIMITED in AUCKLAND. The successful candidate will take on a leadership role, managing a team of drivers and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality service that our company is known for. The role involves overseeing daily operations, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring staff are well-equipped and capable of meeting business requirements.
This position offers a minimum of 30 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime as required. The pay rate ranges from $35 to $37 per hour, depending on experience. Job Description:
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of drivers, including scheduling, leave management, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Oversee journey and incident management processes.
- Plan and implement strategies to improve business profitability through effective budgeting and resource optimisation.
- Monitor and maintain GPS data to optimise fleet utilisation and enhance customer service outcomes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding any issues or incidents that may arise during the journey.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and regulatory requirements.
- Effectively collaborate with the team to plan and manage maintenance across the fleet, ensuring adherence with transportation regulations.
- Maintain strong client relationships, including contract renewals and ensuring timely and prescribed service delivery.
- Assign work to drivers and ensure the routes are effectively completed within given timeframes.
- Manage records of accounts & staff rosters and payroll.
- Oversee personnel activities, including recruitment, performance management, training, promotions, and supervision.
What we expect from you:
- Have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role. However, qualifications of Diploma will substitute the work experience requirement.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence, lead and inspire confidence in a team.
- Positive attitude with strong decision-making abilities, particularly in critical situations.
- Must be able to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Flexibility to work on weekends and public holidays when required.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
- Must have no serious criminal convictions.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 25 kg safely.
