Job Description:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare and mix agrichemicals in accordance with manufacturer instructions and safety regulations.
  • Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilisers to tomato crops using appropriate spraying
    equipment.
  • Ensure accurate dosage, timing, and application techniques to optimise crop protection and yield.
  • Inspect tomato crops and surrounding areas to identify pests, diseases, or nutrient
    deficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of chemical usage and treatment schedules.
  • Operate spraying machinery and other grounds maintenance equipment.
  • Clean spraying equipment and tools after use to prevent contamination and ensure
    proper functioning.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and report any faults or repair needs.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE when handling
    agrichemicals
  • Provide basic guidance to other staff on safe spraying practices and farm procedures
    where required

Job requirement: applicant must meet following requirement to apply for this job

  • NZQF Level 4 qualification is required, OR
  • At least two years of working experience in relevant industry
  • Work well in a team as well as individually
  • Be well-organized and able to multitask
  • Have strong Health and Safety awareness
  • Be physically fit
