BUTCHER

We are seeking a skilled and reliable full time Butcher to join our busy store based in Auckland. This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about meat preparation, maintains high hygiene standards and delivers great customer service. You will be required to work between minimum 30 hours to maximum 45 hours from Monday – Sunday (as per roster). This role requires you to be flexible with working hours which includes weekends, late evening shifts including public holidays. We as a business need to meet our health and safety obligations at all levels, including engaging staff and managing risks.

Job Responsibilities

·       Cut, trim, bone and prepare meat products to a high standard

·       Ensure proper storage, handling and rotation of meat stock

·       Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the work area in line with food safety standards

·       Assist customers with meat selection and provide product recommendations

·       Weigh, price and package meat products accurately

·       Ensure displays are well-stocked, organised, and visually appealing

·       Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory control

·       Minimise waste through efficient preparation and stock management

·       Follow all food safety, health and safety regulations

·       Clean and maintain tools and equipment, including knives and machinery

·       Work collaboratively with team members to meet store targets

·       Provide excellent customer service and build strong customer relationships

Key requirements

ü  To be successful you must have at least 2 years of retail industry work experience or Level 4 Diploma or higher qualification in any stream

ü  Strong knowledge of meat cuts, preparation techniques and food safety standards

ü  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

ü  Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting

ü  Excellent communication and customer service skills

ü  High attention to detail and hygiene standards

ü  Knowledge of health and safety procedures, including hazard management

ü  Positive attitude and strong work ethic

ü  Clean character background

ü  Zero tolerance for drugs in the workplace

Salary can be negotiated as per your proven experience level; it will range from $29 per hour to $35 per hour.
