We are seeking a motivated and experienced Junior Auto Mechanic to join our team. This is a full-time permanent position and an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual to develop their career in the automotive industry in New Zealand.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and identify mechanical and electrical faults in passenger and light commercial vehicles
  • Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance work on vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workshop standards
  • Perform engine, transmission, brake, suspension and steering system repairs and overhauls
  • Conduct routine vehicle servicing including oil changes, filter replacements, tyre rotations and safety inspections
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve vehicle faults
  • Assist senior technicians with complex repairs and diagnostics
  • Complete job cards, vehicle inspection reports and service documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain workshop tools and equipment in clean and safe working condition
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and workshop policies
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding vehicle faults and repair requirements where required

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as an automotive technician or mechanic
  • A relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification or above prefered but not mandatory
  • Experience with vehicle diagnostics, servicing and  repairs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
  • A full and valid driver's licence
  • Clean and safe working attitude
