Based in the Bay of Plenty region, we are a well-established organisation serving the horticulture industry in the area. We work with orchards to assure seamless operations and superior results. We are looking to hire Supervisor - Team Leaders to be a part of our business expansion and operations.

About the Role

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team as Supervisor - Team Leaders. This is a hands-on role where you will oversee and lead teams in the orchard operations, and ensure that crops are harvested on time and to the highest quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

Compliance & Administration

  1. Ensure immigration compliance for all field staff on temporary visas.
  2. Receive daily duty rosters, timesheets, and work plans from the management and distribute them to the orchard workers, and submit completed timesheets for payroll and invoicing.
  3. Promote and enforce workplace health & safety practices in line with company and regulatory requirements.

 

Workforce & Team Leadership

  1. Coordinate with site supervisers to determine labour requirements and allocate staff efficiently across orchard blocks and sites.
  2. Supervise a team or teams and manage labour activities across horticultural worksites, including apple, stone fruit, grape, and squash operations.
  3. Support teams with horticultural work when supervisory tasks are not required.


Orchard Operations & Production

  1. Ensure that your teams are equipped to deliver seasonal orchard operations, including planting, thinning, pruning, and harvesting.
  2. Monitor crop performance and provide input to management on irrigation, fertilisation, and pest control.
  3. Maintain accurate records of crop yields, harvest volumes, and production costs.
  4. Liaise with contractors, labour, and management to ensure smooth and efficient production flow.


Monitoring & Reporting

  1. Monitor staff output, attendance, and performance.
  2. Report to management on compliance, health and safety adherence, and other matters as directed.


Logistics & Staff Support

  1. Coordinate with Site Supervisers to arrange field staff transport, accommodation, and other logistical needs.


Skills & Experience Required

 

  • Ability to work outdoors and adapt to seasonal orchard demands.
