About the business
Bakshish Farm Limited is a dairy farming business based in Mamaku, Bay of Plenty. We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Farm Assistant to support the daily operations of the farm and assist with livestock care, milking, feeding, and general farm duties.
Key duties and responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to:

Assisting with milking and maintaining hygiene standards in the milking shed

Feeding stock and assisting with pasture allocation and stock movement

Monitoring livestock and reporting any signs of illness or injury

Assisting with calving, mating, and general animal care
-
Cleaning farm equipment, sheds, and work areas
-
Assisting with fencing, water systems, and general farm maintenance

Operating basic farm machinery and equipment as required

Following farm policies and procedures for animal welfare and health and safety

Supporting the Herd Manager and other staff with day-to-day farm operations
Candidate requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet one of the following minimum requirements:

At least 2 years of relevant work experience in dairy farming, livestock farming, or a closely related role; or

A relevant qualification at NZQCF Level 4 or above
Applicants should also demonstrate:

Good practical knowledge of farm operations

Ability to carry out physical outdoor work

Good attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Commitment to animal welfare and workplace health and safety

A current driver licence may be an advantage
