We have an opportunity for an experienced Mechanic to join our busy workshop on wheels. This is a hands-on and fast-paced role that will require the ability to think on your feet while delivering an exceptional standard of work across a fleet of campervans and vehicles.

campervan rental company, we are expanding our team to support increased demand and continue delivering high standards across our operations.

About the role:

  • Permanent, full time position, minimum 30 hours per week
  • Normal hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm
  • Work on some Saturdays will be required
  • Pay range of $32.00 to $37.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • Job Description:
    Carrying out mechanical repairs and servicing across a fleet of vehicles, including campervans
  • Diagnosing vehicle faults manually and with the aid of software and digital diagnostic tools
  • Conducting routine maintenance and pre-hire checks to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and
    compliant
  • Repairing and replacing faulty or worn vehicle parts
  • Performing test drives to ensure repairs have been completed effectively
  • Installing and fitting vehicle accessories efficiently and to a high standard
  • Problem solving and diagnostic work to identify and resolve mechanical issues
  • Updating and maintaining accurate vehicle service records
  • Maintaining clear documentation of all work completed and reporting to the Head Mechanic and clients
  • Communicating effectively with the Workshop Foreman/Manager and team
  • Communicating with clients to explain repairs and maintenance requirements in clear, simple
    terms
  • Building and maintaining positive client relationships through professional and reliable service
  • Working efficiently to meet turnaround times and ensure fleet availability


About you:

The successful candidate will have the following essential attributes:

  • NZ Certificate in Light Automotive Engineering Level 4 (or equivalent) OR
  • Have at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Holds a clean driver’s licence.
  • Experience working on a variety of vehicles (work with campervans and diesel vehicles advantageous)
  • Passionate about understanding and meeting the needs of customers
  • Proactive, energetic and decisive team player
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate results
  • Dedicated to maintaining a tidy, healthy and safe work environment
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven technical ability
  • Time efficiency is key in this role.
