Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Retail Manager to oversee daily store operations, drive sales performance, and ensure compliance within a regulated retail environment.
This role involves planning, organizing, and controlling retail activities, managing staff, optimizing store performance, and delivering excellent customer service in line with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage product range, stock levels, and service standards across vaping products and accessories to keep the store running smoothly
- Monitor stock availability and in-stock presentation to ensure key products are well-stocked and visually appealing
- Set and adjust product pricing for products in line with market conditions, supplier costs, and sales performance
- Manage stock ordering, product promotions, and price updates to maintain product availability and commercial competitiveness
- Plan and run in-store promotions, product displays, and retail campaigns to drive customer engagement and sales
- Oversee sales and customer interactions, ensuring accurate product guidance and responsible retail practices
- Maintain stock records, sales reports, and daily transaction documentation, ensuring inventory and sales data are accurate and up to date
- Set sales targets, manage store expenses, and control stock purchasing budgets to support store profitability
- Lead and manage retail staff, including hiring, rostering, training, and performance management to drive team performance
- Ensure the store operates in line with health and safety requirements, internal procedures, and regulated retail standards
Requirements
- Hold a New Zealand Level 6 Diploma qualification in Business, Management and Marketing, or a related field
- Or have at least three years of relevant work experience in retail operations, retail management, or a related field
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Good understanding of retail operations, sales, and customer service practices
- Ability to manage compliance requirements in a regulated environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
- Basic computer skills with POS systems, inventory systems, and Microsoft Office
