We are looking for Indian tandoor and curry cooks two positions to work in our busy restaurant in Wellington city.
Tasks/Responsibilities
? Responsible to cook varieties of Indian curries and tandoori dishes
? Required to check freshness of food & ingredients
? Assist in developing recipes & present the food
? Assist with the serving sizes and quality of meals
? You will be required to inspect supplies; equipment’s and work areas for Cleanliness andfunctionality
? Set up work place in accordance to the business level and keep stocked for service
? Prepare the gravies and sauces as per the business requirements
? Prepare the food as per the request of customers with dietary requirements
? Ensure the food is presented, portioned and garnished correctly
? Ensure the ingredients quality is up to the standard of the restaurant
? To preserve the food and freeze them as required
? Ensure implementation of effective cost controls without compromising standards of service
? Assist with training of Kitchen Hand and other support staff
? Pointing the problems in the kitchen and resolving them quickly and efficiently
? Maintain a good working relationship with the staff
? Ensure that all equipments are kept clean
? Follow the maintenance and health and safety issues
? Maintaining impeccable personal hygiene as well as high work and safety standards in thework place
? Able to work flexible hours at cover up large orders and catering
Requirements:
o Have experience of minimum 1 year in tandoor and Curry or relevant level 2 qualification
o Able to work independently
o Good work experience in similar ethnic food is an advantage
o Able to work on weekends, public holidays and split shifts
o Working well under pressure and within the time limit.
o Able to work till late evenings and for large catering orders.
