An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Construction Project Specialist to join a large-scale build within the health sector. Based in Ōtāhuhu, this role will play a critical part in supporting the successful delivery of a major construction project.

We are seeking a highly experienced professional with proven expertise in large-scale construction projects within New Zealand, who can confidently step into a fast-paced, complex environment and add value from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the successful delivery of projects in line with approved plans, scope, and contracted outcomes
  • Monitor progress to ensure deliverables are achieved within time and budget constraints
  • Prepare and maintain key governance documentation (status reports, steering packs, actions/decisions logs)
  • Identify risks, issues, and deviations—proactively implementing mitigation strategies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation and systems
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Support financial tracking, forecasting, and reporting across projects
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, including lessons learned and process enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements

 About You

You are a motivated and detail-oriented project professional with experience in facilities, construction, or property-related environments.

 You will bring:

  • 1–3+ years’ project coordination or project management experience
  • Exposure to facilities, construction, or infrastructure projects (ideally within complex environments)
  • Understanding of core project management disciplines (risk, scheduling, budgeting, stakeholder engagement)
  • Experience supporting governance reporting and project documentation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Relevant qualification in project management, construction, engineering, or similar
  • Certification (CAPM, PRINCE2, or similar) or working towards is advantageous
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on delivery and outcomes
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support wider project teams
