The Opportunity:
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Regional Manager to oversee the Tauranga, Rotorua, and Hamilton branches. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving operational performance, strengthening leadership capability, and supporting the continued growth and success of the region.

This is a hands-on, high-impact position where you will lead across all aspects of the regional operation. You will lead from the front, spending time across each branch, supporting teams, identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving consistency in service delivery, branch performance, and commercial outcomes across the region.

You will play a critical role in mentoring and developing Branch Managers, and their teams, building capability and strengthening industry knowledge, and supporting leadership development, while also integrating a recently acquired Hamilton branch into the wider business, embedding company culture, values and operational expectations.

A key focus of this role will also be strengthening the region’s commercial position. You will work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement regional strategies, identify growth opportunities, and support the introduction of new services. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact, both operationally and commercially.

The Role in more detail:

  • Be a hands-on, visible leader, spending quality time across all branches.

  • Support and mentor Branch Managers, equipping them to lead their teams effectively.

  • Implement best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.

  • Upskill branch teams with strong industry, operational and commercial knowledge.

  • Develop and implement strategies to protect market share and strengthen customer retention.

  • Embed a strong Health & Safety culture across the region.

  • Involvement in HR processes including recruitment, training, and performance management.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, including fleet optimisation, resourcing and cost management.

  • Oversee P&L, reporting and regional financial performance.

  • Work closely with senior management on strategic planning initiatives.

  • Support business growth opportunities and develop key customer relationships.

About You:

  • Strong commercial experience, ideally within logistics, transport, waste, or related industries .

  • Proven leadership experience across multi-site or operational environments.

  • A roll-up-your-sleeves, people-first leadership style.

  • Ability to bring teams together and cultivate a culture of accountability and performance.

  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.

  • Strong operational capability, including scheduling and workforce planning.

  • Strong financial and business acumen, including P&L management.

  • Strategic and analytical thinker with a problem-solving mindset.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • High regard for safe working practices.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification desirable but not essential.

  • Ideally you will be based in the Waikato region.
