Description

Sunrise Painting & Decorating Ltd is a Wellington-based business providing high-quality residential and commercial painting and decorating services.

We are seeking Painters to join our team, working full-time from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with a minimum of 40 hours guaranteed per week.

The role:

Your tasks may include but are not limited to the following:

• Reading instructions and examining surfaces to determine the type and extent of work required
• Preparing interior and exterior surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, stripping old paint, patching, and filling cracks and holes
• Making on-site preparations such as setting up ladders or scaffolding and covering fixtures and surrounding areas
• Mixing and matching paint to the required colour and texture
• Applying paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, windows, and other surfaces
• Carrying out plastering and other surface preparation work where required
• Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment
• Working to a high standard on residential and commercial painting projects

About you:  

•  A relevant level 4 certificate in Painting and Decorating or a Bachelor's degree in any field, or at least 2 years of relevant work experience
• Ability to work unsupervised and also as part of a team
• Good attention to detail and workmanship
• Be physically fit
• Be able to pass a random drug and alcohol test if required
• A police check and reference check may be required
