WHEATZ BAKERY CITY LIMITED trading as WHEATZ BAKERY is seeking a capable, analytical and solutions-focused Business Analyst to support the improvement of business systems across bakery production, retail stores, wholesale operations and distribution.
About the role – Key tasks and responsibilities
This role is responsible for analysing business needs and operational workflows across production, retail and wholesale functions, and translating those needs into practical business system solutions that improve efficiency, visibility, accuracy and scalability across the business.
In this role, you will

Work with stakeholders across retail stores, central production, wholesale operations and distribution to understand business processes and gather business and system requirements.

Identify and analyse end-to-end operational workflows and associated system requirements, including inventory management, production planning, ordering and supply chain processes.

Evaluate inefficiencies, risks and gaps in current processes and supporting systems, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, visibility, accuracy and scalability.

Document business and system requirements in a structured format, including process flows, business rules, data requirements, functional requirements and reporting needs.

Translate business requirements into system solutions, supporting the design and improvement of operational systems used for inventory, production and supply chain management.

Design data structures, workflows and system logic to support accurate tracking of stock, production activities and order fulfilment.

Support the development and implementation of business systems, beginning with structured tools such as Excel-based models and progressing towards more scalable digital solutions such as integrated systems or web-based platforms.

Conduct feasibility assessments and support decision-making on system enhancements, process improvements and solution options.

Participate in system testing, validation and implementation to ensure solutions meet documented business requirements and user needs.

Create and maintain documentation, including business requirements, process descriptions, functional specifications and system usage guidelines.

Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to monitor key operational and supply chain metrics such as inventory levels, wastage, production output and order fulfilment performance.

Work with internal teams and external service providers, where applicable, to support system development, integration, maintenance and continuous improvement.

Continuously review system performance, data quality and related business processes, and recommend enhancements to support business growth, operational efficiency and better decision-making.
Terms and Conditions:
- Employment Type: Full time, permanent
- Hours: minimum 30 hours per week maximum 40 hours per week
- Pay Rate: $35 -$42 per hour depending on the quality of your experience
- Work location: Auckland CBD
- Start Date: Immediate or by agreement
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
Experience: With no formal qualification, at least 5 years of relevant experience in ICT business analysis, systems analysis, or business systems improvement roles.
Experience in analysing and improving systems relating to inventory management, production planning, supply chain operations, retail operations, or wholesale order processing will be highly regarded.
Experience working with business stakeholders to gather requirements, prepare documentation, support testing, and contribute to implementation of business system solutions is highly desirable.
