About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team working across residential new builds, renovations, and light commercial projects in the Hawea, Wanaka, and wider Otago region.

This is a hands-on role requiring a high standard of workmanship and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general carpentry work on residential and light commercial projects
  • Read and interpret building plans and specifications
  • Measure, cut, and assemble materials
  • Install structures and fixtures including framing, flooring, and cladding
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with building codes
  • Maintain safe work practices on site

Pay and Hours

  • $35.00 per hour (gross)
  • Minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed
  • Work will be based in Hawea, Wanaka, and surrounding Otago areas

Minimum Requirements (Mandatory)

Applicants must meet at least one of the following:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, OR
  • A relevant Level 4 qualification or higher in Carpentry or a related field

Other Requirements

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test if required
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual work
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
  • Full driver licence preferred

  • This role is a permanent, full-time position
