Job Description
We are on the lookout for an Agricultural and horticultural mobile plant operator to join our business.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Prepare, position, and set up machinery for safe and efficient operation

·         Operate tractor-drawn and self-propelled equipment for ploughing, sowing, fertilising, cultivating, and harvesting, ensuring minimal crop damage

·         Accurately adjust implement settings, including speed, height, and depth, to suit operating conditions

·         Operate forestry plant to grip, lift, and cut trees safely and efficiently

·         Use attachments to lift, swing, sort, and stack trees and logs

·         Operate auxiliary equipment such as chippers and log splitters

·         Process felled trees by feeding them into machinery to de-limb and cut into logs

·         Load and organise logs onto stockpiles and transport vehicles

·         Maintain accurate production records, including log tallies and work reports

·         Perform routine servicing and carry out minor maintenance and repairs on equipment

Requirements:

·         Minimum six months of experience or level 2 or above qualification required

·         On job training is provided

·         Ministry of justice check and pre-employment drug test required
