We prefer the candidates who have:

 At least three years of proven working experience

 OR you have NZ Level 4 qualification or higher level qualification

 Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches or building plans

 Competent knowledge of different excavator models and operating mechanisms

 Commitment to safety guidelines

 Physically fit for construction work Description of the role

 Interpret site drawings, plans, and instructions to ensure excavation work

 Operate excavator to perform tasks such as trenching, digging, grading, and site preparation

 Excavate foundations, drainage systems, and service trenches according to project specifications and site plans

 Load, move, and place materials such as soil, gravel, and debris efficiently and safely

 Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance of machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation

 Monitor ground conditions and adjust machine operation to suit varying soil type and site constraints

  Work in coordination with site supervisors, engineers, and other construction workers to meet project timelines  Follow all health and safety regulations, including hazard identification and safe work practices on construction sites.

 Ensure proper positioning and stabilization of machinery during operation

  Carry out equipment maintenance, including servicing, lubrication, cleaning and refueling, as well as performing minor adjustments and repairs.
