Role Overview
 
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Transport & Logistics Manager (full time) to oversee and manage transport and logistics operations across the Tauranga region and western Bay of Plenty.

Key Responsibilities
 
Transport & Distribution Management
 
 • Plan and coordinate daily transport operations, routes, and delivery schedules
 • Ensure timely and efficient movement of goods to customers and/or business locations
 • Optimise routes to reduce fuel costs and improve delivery times
 
 
Fleet Management
 
 • Manage your own vehicle(s) or coordinate with third-party transport providers
 • Ensure vehicles are roadworthy, maintained, and compliant with NZ standards
 • Oversee servicing, repairs, and operational readiness
 
 
Compliance & Legal Responsibilities (NZ-Specific)
 
 • Operate in accordance with Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency regulations
 • Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
 • Maintain accurate driver logbooks and adhere to work-time and rest-time rules
 • Ensure all the certifications are current.
 
 
Logistics & Inventory Coordination
 
 • Ensure proper handling, loading, and unloading of goods
 • Work closely with the managers and the customers for a smooth running business 
 
 
Cost & Financial Management 
 
 • Manage your own operating costs (fuel, maintenance, insurance, etc.)
 • Invoice for services rendered as per agreed contract terms
 • Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency
 
 
Customer & Service Delivery
 
 • Maintain strong communication with clients 
 • Ensure high service standards and timely issue resolution
 • Represent the business professionally during all deliveries and interactions
 
 
Systems & Reporting
 
 • Use GPS, routing, or logistics software where required
 • Provide regular updates on deliveries, delays, or operational issues
 • Maintain accurate delivery and service records
 
 
Continuous Improvement
 
 • Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency and service quality
 • Suggest operational improvements and scalable logistics solutions

 • Financial awareness and cost control mindset
 
 
Key Requirements
 
 • Must have tertiary qualification or 3 years of relevant work experience (transport, logistics, or delivery operations)
 • 7 days operations (able to work 6 days, including weekends, public holiday)
