The Maintenance Electrician is an integral member of the site Engineering team. In this role, you’ll carry out both preventative and general maintenance, with a strong focus on reducing downtime and improving plant efficiency.

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join the Christchurch engineering team on a permanent full-time basis.

Key responsibilities:

·         Responding quickly to breakdowns, setting priorities, and taking action to minimise downtime

·         Carrying out preventative maintenance to avoid issues before they occur

·         Planning and scheduling work to ensure plant availability, including ordering or requesting parts as required

·         Performing failure analysis on equipment downtime that meets the agreed trigger points

·         Building your technical expertise through training and development opportunities

·         Supporting improvement projects, identifying opportunities, and helping design solutions

 

We're seeking a skilled, reliable, and composed individual who can excel under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 To be successful in your application, you will have:

·         Minimum 5 years demonstrated electrical maintenance experience in an engineering role ideally in a food manufacturing environment.

·         Relevant Trade Qualification - EWRB Registered Electrician with a current full practising licence is essential (non-negotiable)

·         Experience in preventative maintenance and fault-finding

·         Experience with electrical control systems (PLC programming, SCADA, VSD and CMMS will be an advantage)

·         Endorsed Hazardous Areas certification or working towards to obtain it will be advantageous

·         Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to work across all levels of the plant

Hours of work: This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday – Friday, 08h00 – 17h00.
