The Top Energy Group operates throughout the Far North delivering geothermal electricity generation and electricity network operations. We are enabling Northland to contribute to the decarbonisation challenge by transforming the Top Energy Group into a technology-enabled energy company that generates and facilitates two-way energy flow between renewable energy generators and consumers.

About the role

We are seeking a self-motivated, outcome focused Vegetation Foreman, whose primary responsibility is to lead field crews in carrying out vegetation clearance work around power lines during regular scheduled maintenance, or fault response operations.

This position will report to the Vegetation Supervisor and is based at our Puketona site.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for field crews and equipment on worksites, following best working practices
  • Assist with tree work to achieve line clearance, identifying any risks involved, and ensuring expected relevant standards are met
  • Complete chargeable arborist works
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to provide information, eliminate issues and achieve solutions
  • Ensuring the correct usage of chainsaws, machinery and vehicles as directed for the task
  • Maintaining safety standards to a high level, continuously evaluating procedures and practices, whilst actively promoting Health and Safety within all areas of the business
  • Encouraging team development and supporting individuals' training plans

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have proven leadership experience and be able to demonstrate strong arboriculture skills and experience to support a diversity of work types. An extensive understanding of relevant Codes of Practice is required, along with advanced knowledge of the Hazard from Trees Regulations 2003. The successful candidate must hold a full, clean Drivers Licence, including a class 4 licence, and hold a Close Working Zone certificate.

There is an expectation with this role to make yourself available for work outside of normal working hours on occasion for overtime or to assist with the daily operations of Top Energy's Network.
