As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery to complete earthworks, trenching, and site preparation. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate excavators for trenching, bulk earthworks, and drainage work
  • Carry out precise digging around services and structures
  • Load and move materials safely and efficiently
  • Perform daily machine checks and basic maintenance
  • Read and follow site plans and instructions
  • Work closely with ground crews and supervisors
  • Maintain a strong focus on health & safety at all times

Skills & Experience

  • At least 2 years proven experience or relevant level 4 qualification
  • Relevant licences/tickets (e.g. WTR – Wheels, Tracks, and Rollers endorsement)
  • Good understanding of site safety and hazard management
  • Ability to read and interpret plans
  • Experience working around underground services (advantageous)
