Job Description

  • Review and understand design documents such as blueprints, sketches, or architectural plans.
  • Develop work processes and determine necessary dimensions, materials, and quantities.
  • Organize the sequence of work, select appropriate timber and supplies, and create assembly layouts.
  • Measure, cut, and shape building materials to precise sizes using manual or electric tools.
  • Join and fasten prepared components to build structural frames or interior installations.
  • Construct and install roof and window frames, interior walls, partitions, staircases, and sub-flooring or finished floors.
  • Fabricate and fit stairways, doors, window sills, and exterior trim or fascia.
  • Carry out removal, repair, renovation, and maintenance tasks on existing wooden fixtures and structures.
  • Assemble formwork for concrete pours as needed.
  • Handle and install plastic laminate and metal materials when the job requires.
  • Fulfill any additional reasonable tasks assigned by the employer.

Position Details

  • Location: Auckland
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Pay Rate: $30.00–$40.00 per hour
  • Days Required: 6 days per week, roster may apply
  • Hours Per Week: Minimum 40 hours

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, or a relevant NZ Level 4 qualification (or equivalent overseas qualification), or a bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required.
