Aspiring Language Institute is an Auckland-based English language PTE offering structured programmes to international students and migrant learners. Our courses include General English, IELTS Preparation, and English for Migrants, delivered within a level-based academic framework.

We are seeking a full-time English Language Tutor to join our academic team. This role involves delivering structured English language instruction to students enrolled in our programmes, supporting learners to achieve measurable outcomes in academic, workplace, and everyday communication.

You will work within a structured teaching environment where students are grouped by proficiency level and follow defined learning pathways. This is a permanent, full-time position, and you will be required to work at least 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, within normal school hours.

Key Responsibilities

·      Assessment of the English levels of the students whose first language is not English, and develop teaching plans and targets accordingly

·      Classroom English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESCOL) teaching as required

·      Preparation of course outlines and learning program plans which meet internal quality assurance requirements

·      Producing teaching materials, and improving and adapting existing materials

·      Marketing of tests, assessments and other assessments and reporting of student results

·      Ensuring that all teaching materials, assessments and student record data are made available to the institute for filing and centralisation

·      Analysing and reporting the student's progress, and communicating with other teachers and the student's parents about the progress from time to time when necessary.

·      Assisting with the institute's administrative duties relating to NZQA and other compliance issues

 About You

·       At least a bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or TESOL or a related field OR

·       At least five years of relevant experience in teaching or tutoring English language learners

·       Excellent command of written and spoken English

·       Ability to assess student needs and develop personalised learning plans

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·       Patience, adaptability, and cultural awareness in dealing with learnings of diverse backgrounds.
