We are seeking an experienced and reliable Wood Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating and setting up woodworking machinery to produce high-quality timber products in accordance with specifications and safety standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Studying drawings, work orders, and sample parts to determine specifications
- Determining machine settings, tooling requirements, and sequence of operations
- Setting up woodworking machines and preparing timber stock for processing
- Operating machinery to cut, plane, turn, shape, and sand wood materials
- Monitoring machine operations to ensure accuracy and quality output
- Removing old finishes and preparing surfaces using appropriate tools and materials
- Applying finishes such as stains, varnish, lacquer, and paint
- Assembling and fitting timber components and frame structures
- Conducting routine maintenance and ensuring safe operation of machinery
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety standards
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant qualification OR at least 2 years of relevant work experience
- Experience operating woodworking machinery preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Good understanding of health and safety practices

Abililty to work long weekends, public holiday and evening shifts. Salary range of $30.00-$36.00 per hour, depending on experience
