About the role

Our client is New Zealand's largest Volvo Penta dealer servicing and maintaining engines, drive systems and outboards. This is an exciting opportunity to work with premium marine brands in a modern, well equipped workshop environment, supported by a professional and knowledgeable team.

  • Diagnostics, servicing and repairs on inboard diesel marine engines

  • Mechanical fault finding and troubleshooting

  • Engine rebuilds, installations and commissioning

  • Inspection and testing of fire systems

  • Inspection and testing of diesel generators

  • Diagnostic work - fault identification, troubleshooting & condition reporting.

  • Sourcing and installation of new parts and equipment

  • Pressure testing of valves and hydraulic components

  • Load testing of winches and lifting equipment.

  • Electrical and electronic diagnostics (advantageous)

  • Maintaining high workshop standards and accurate job documentation

  • Provide brief reports and photographs of maintenance completed.

About You

  • Qualified Diesel technician (NZ Trade recognised)  

  • Marine or Truck / Bus Volvo experience (preferred, not essential)

  • Hydraulics trade/experience

  • Basic electrical DC

  • Minimum Experience 3 years

  • New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents preferred for security requirements. 

  • Strong commitment to health and safety

  • Comfortable working independently

  • Have a passion for beautiful vessels and the water.
