My client is a fast-growing publicly listed Financial Services Group listed on the NZX. They have consistently year on year expereinced solid growth and are comitted to offering a suite of financial services which include lending, investment, and advisory expertise. 

They're looking for a Senior Legal Counsel or simialr to step up and take on the role of Corporate Counsel and Company Secretary. This role is based onsite in Auckland CBD. Whilst the role would ideally be full time, they're open to a Lawyer working 3 days if this is the preference.

  • Drafting and reviewing contracts, advising on legal matters affecting the businesses in the Group, managing legal risks, and supporting the Board of Directors on corporate governance matters.
  • Build networks and liaise with regulatory bodies, handle compliance obligations, and contribute to the development and implementation of company policies.
  • Supporting the Group with its growth/mergers & acquisitions, management of company secretarial responsibilities, leading on risk management, providing guidance on the establishment of new products and managing insurance policies.

To be considered you will have

  • A law degree combined with a current practicing certificate in NZ
  • Experience working as a senior legal counsel or equivalent
  • Understanding of corporate law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance
  • A team player and enjoys being a part of a small but fast growing team 
  • NZ citizenship or residency
