About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Steel Fixer to join our team working on commercial and residential projects across Auckland. This is a full-time, ongoing role requiring a reliable tradesperson with proven experience in reinforcing steel installation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interpret and work from construction drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Measure, cut, bend, and assemble reinforcing steel bars and mesh
  • Place and secure steel reinforcement for concrete structures including slabs, columns, beams, walls, and foundations
  • Tie reinforcing steel using hand tools and mechanical equipment
  • Set out reinforcing steel to correct levels and spacing
  • Ensure all work complies with New Zealand building standards and health & safety requirements
  • Work effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other site trades
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe, tidy worksite
Skills, Experience, and Attributes
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience as a Steel Fixer 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
  • Good knowledge of reinforcing steel placement and fixing techniques
  • Sound understanding of construction site health and safety practices
  • Physically fit and capable of manual work
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment
  • Own transport & tools
  • Current Site Safe license (essential)
