Position: Multimedia Specialist

Wages: $45 -$55 per hour, depends on experience and capability
Work hours: minimum 30 hours per week, maximum 40 hours per week.

Sky Mobile Limited (Skykiwi) is the most influential Chinese media in New Zealand. The platform includes website, APPs, social media, e-commerce and offline events and has covered 420K registered users. We are a rapidly growing company and becoming a two-way communication bridge between China and New Zealand.

We are now looking for an experienced Multimedia Specialist to join our busy team. Your main tasks include:

Job Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, and deploying interactive multimedia applications and cross-platform digital solutions (iOS/Android/Web) to meet company and customer needs.
• Integrating text, audio, graphic, animation, and video elements into cohesive multimedia products using modern frameworks (e.g., Flutter, Vue).
• Testing and optimizing multimedia application performance, ensuring seamless UI/UX interactions and high-fidelity media rendering across various devices.
• Evaluating and upgrading existing digital platforms to enhance interactive features, multimedia content delivery, and ad-mediation integrations (e.g., AdMob, Meta).
• Developing technical handbooks and documentation mapping out the multimedia architecture, user interactive flow, and content integration protocols.

Qualification, Experience and Skills Requirements:

• At least five years of relevant work experience in interactive application development, digital media solutions, or full-stack multimedia systems;
• Have sufficient stress tolerance and be on call for unexpected technical situations regarding live digital platforms.
• Candidates must have the ability to quickly locate system bottlenecks, solve multimedia rendering issues, and work with design/content teams to advance the product.
• Candidates must be proficient in using Github, with experience in collaborative digital project management and version control.
• Acquire proficiency in programming languages and frameworks essential for cross-platform multimedia development: Flutter, Dart, Java, Object-C, Kotlin, Swift, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Vue, Angular JS.
• Candidates must have hands-on experience deploying multimedia-rich applications to major distribution platforms: App Store (excellent using Testflight), Google Play, Huawei App Gallery.
• Be proficient using IDEs for digital content development: Android Studio, XCode, Idea, Visual Studio Code.
• Excellent experience using debugging tools (Charles, Postman, Swagger) to ensure stable API connections for media asset delivery.
• Strong hands-on experience with frontend rendering and state management tools (e.g., flutter bloc, glide).
• Have complete experience in building project structure design, memory optimization (especially for heavy multimedia assets), and UI performance tuning.
• Ability to build and architect backend services (Spring boot, mybatis, protobuf) to support high-concurrency digital content distribution and media API services in a Linux environment is highly preferred.
