Class 5 Truck Drivers

Your key Responsibilities 

·        Carry out transportation of general freight including dangerous goods, bulk deliveries and pickups from freight companies.

·        Deliver and pickup goods from the freight companies with an ability to load and unload the truck using lifting and tipping devices, if required.

·        Carry out daily pre-checks of the vehicle and report any faults immediately.

·        Report any problems, incidents/ accidents or customer complaints immediately.

·        Secure the loads using load binders, chains and straps to prevent loss and damage of the goods.

·        Adhere to Land Transport Safety Authority rules and regulations and keep a logbook of the hours worked.

·        Keep records of, and check invoices for, goods you deliver/pickup.

·        Carry out any other duties as requested by the Managing Director or designated Manager.

You will also be responsible to:

·        Observe safe work practices and rules relative to your work and the company will diligently enforce these rules.

·        Adhere to fatigue guidelines.

·        Undergo drug and alcohol testing if required.

·        Actively contribute to hazard identification and management.

·        Participate in health and safety training.

·        Adopt safe work practices.

Qualifications & Experience

·        At least 1 year work experience driving 18 Speed Manual Road Ranger, FCL Swinglift or similar truck.

·        NZ Class 5 Drivers License (or International Drivers License with an ability to obtain NZ Class 5 License)

·        Knowledge of how to secure loads using load binders, chains and strops.

·        Self-motivated and the ability to work to strict deadlines.

·        Good communication skills and a can-do attitude.

·        Good time management skills.

·        Locations for Work: Auckland and areas outside of Auckland as specified by the employer 

The pay range for this position is between $30.00 per hour to $35.00 per hour based upon experience.
