Role Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Wall and Floor Tiler to join our small team. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation, layout, and installation of various tiling materials in residential and commercial settings. As a key member of our business, you will take ownership of your jobs from start to finish, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and excellent customer service.

 

Key Responsibilities

Surface Preparation: Evaluate surfaces for level and stability; remove old tiles, adhesive, and grout; apply waterproofing membranes and underlayment as required.

Layout & Planning: Measure areas accurately to calculate material needs and plan tile patterns to minimize waste and ensure aesthetic symmetry.

Installation: Cut and shape tiles using manual tools or power saws; apply adhesive and set tiles in accordance with design specifications.

Finishing: Apply grout, sealants, and caulking to joints; clean and polish finished surfaces to ensure a professional look.

Maintenance: Advise clients on proper tile care and perform repair work on chipped or loose tiles when necessary.

Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all site health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

 

Skills Required

  • Experience: At least two years of relevant experience.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in handling a variety of materials, including ceramic, porcelain, mosaic, marble, and natural stone. 
  • Tool Competency: Skilled in using tile cutters, wet saws, levels, and specialized hand tools.
  • Attention to Detail: A sharp eye for alignment, spacing, and finishing to ensure high-end results.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, work on your knees for extended periods, and maintain productivity in various environments.
  • Communication: Friendly and professional when interacting with clients and other tradespeople on-site.
  • Autonomy: Able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining the company's quality standards.
