We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable candidate for the Transport Manager's position to autonomously manage, organises and controls the operations of our busy freight delivery business. It is a Full-time role working minimum 30 hours per week.
Position Responsibilities:

Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles.

To manage and supervise the recruitment, training, conduct and work of staff, ensure staff are taught correct sales procedures.

To formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives and monitor the Implementation schedule and policy changes.

To maintain a high level of customer service by ensuring that service standards are high and that complaints from customers about products or staff are quickly resolved

To draw up staff rosters

Keeping and evaluating records
-
Supervision of staff, this includes all drivers, their recruitment, hiring, times sheet, health and safety and working schedules on a daily basis.

Receiving customer orders

Handling of all client issues when they arise.

Negotiating with and invoicing clients for products and services
-
Investigate matters to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.

Negotiate and authorize contracts with equipment and materials suppliers, and monitor contract fulfilment.

Liaising and handling clients’ requirements for timing, volume and delivery of goods
-
Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, government regulations.

Supervise the implementation of all health and safety regulations including staff and trucks

Organising and managing the maintenance of all trucks including road user charges, COF and vehicle servicing.

Managing of all food safety programs of perishable products ensuring quality of product. This include storage, handling, temperature control and distribution.

Management of the company software including handheld devices, Back office data, dealing with distribution, runsheets, product ordering, credits and all claim associated with Clients.

Being responsible for selection and procurement trucks, which includes gathering prices, operational benefits of all brands and all special equipment required to be fitted
Note: Any other related task may be allocated from time to time as assigned by the employer/owner in writing.
Job pre-requisites:

Minimum Level 2 relevant qualification OR

1 year Work Experience in similar business OR

1 Year relevant work experience

Class 4 Driver’s license or Equivalent
-
Forklift License
Able to work long and flexible hours including early morning and weekends.
