About the role

PH Automotive Transmissions Limited is seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join their growing team. This role involves diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a range of vehicles, with a strong focus on overall mechanical performance.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical and transmission faults using appropriate tools and equipment

  • Service, repair, and maintain vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications

  • Remove, repair, and refit engines, gearboxes, and other major components

  • Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance

  • Test drive vehicles to ensure repairs are completed effectively

  • Maintain accurate job records and report any additional work required

  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with workplace health and safety standards

Minimum Requirements

  • A relevant Level 4 qualification or higher in Automotive OR 

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role 

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Job Details:

Pay rate: $25.00 to $30 per hour

Hours of work: Minimum 30 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week; seasonal peak work may require extra hours

Minimum eligibility: Level 4 or above qualification or 3 years of relevant work experience
